Home-made Peanut Butter

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dry Roasted peanuts
  • 1 tsp canola/sunflower oil
  • 1 tsp honey/brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  1. Take dry roasted peanuts in a food processor bowl.
  2. Crush them a high speed for about 30 sec
  3. Once it is powdery, add the other ingredients
  4. Keep blending until it is a fine paste.
  5. Home made peanut butter is ready.
  6. If you want it crunchy, take some more dry roasted peanuts and crush them lightly (into small bits) and add these to the above prepared butter.
You can also roast peanuts at home:
  1. Take a cup of peanuts and spread out on a non-stick pan.
  2. Keep stirring and roast until they are crispy.
  3. Let them cool down. Once cooled, dehull them if you want to use them for peanut butter.

Oat Porridge

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Whole Rolled Oats
  • 1/3 cup Milk
  • 1/3 cup Water
  • 2-3 each of Walnuts, Cashew, Almond - broken into small pieces
  • 10-12 Raisins
  • 1 Tsp Flax seeds - ground into powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Sugar
  • 1 small ripe Banana

Method

  1. Mix water and milk in a pan and add oats. Place it on the stove to cook.
  2. After 1-2 minutes, cut banana into small pieces and add to the pan
  3. Now add sugar, nuts, raisins and flax seeds
  4. Cook until the oats are cooked and the mixture thickens. (If oats are not cooked completely when it has thickened, add some milk/water)
  5. Let it cool for a while.
  6. Transfer to a container and put it in the refrigerator.

This is a healthy breakfast dish and very filling.
The above measure was good for 2 of us for breakfast.
This can be prepared in advance and kept refrigerated for 3-5 days ready for daily breakfast.
